There lived a boy whose name was Tyler."
I struggle to understand why my heart rate quickens every time he passes me by on the way to class. Does he remember me? Most likely not. We've had only a few brief interactions. The first, when he helped me push Wendy's car out of the snow. It was early in the morning and I was still dressed in my pajamas. Way to nail my first impression right? The second was in the middle of the night. One guess as to what I was wearing. Ding, Ding, Ding! You've got it, my pajamas. Karina and I were seated in the living room when we both heard a knock at the door. Immediately Karina jumped up and ran out of the room, leaving me all alone. The fear of being kidnapped entered my mind as I reached the door. When I opened it, there he stood, smiling from ear to ear. His eyes pierced my soul. Perhaps it's the way his face is shaped to look like my ex, ex boyfriend. Or how his laugh makes me want to laugh. Regardless, my heart melted. If he decided to kidnap me right then and there, I wouldn't have minded much.
It's a new semester now, and he's probably forgotten all about me. But I could never forget him...even if I wanted to. And because of this, I've decided that only one thing can be done. If he and I don't interact at least one more time before the semester ends, I will write him a note. Yes, a note. Like I'm back in elementary/middle school again. And in that note, I will reveal my secret. That he has been on my mind for a long, long time.
Maybe then our story will go something like this:
"Once upon a time...there lived a boy whose name was Tyler, who met a girl named Rachael. And they fell in love."
